Hoarding Action & Resource Collaborative (HARC)

The Center for Hoarding’s mission includes strengthening collaborative community responses to hoarding.
Through our education and consultation work, we connect with agencies, task forces, and community leaders who are developing innovative programs and practical, sustainable solutions. At the same time, other agencies and communities we are connecting with struggle to move forward due to lack of support, resources, and guidance. Although agencies and communities across the country face many of the same challenges, there has been no central space for everyone doing this work to connect regularly, learn from one another, and work together.

We are creating the Hoarding Action & Resource Collaborative (HARC) to help bridge that gap.
HARC is a free community resource and an ongoing commitment of the Center for Hoarding that extends
beyond our training programs. The Center for Hoarding will host conversations, focused working groups, and facilitated peer problem-solving sessions where participants can share established programs, explore emerging ideas, ask questions,
and work through common challenges. We welcome voices from communities at every stage and encourage participants to bring both what they have learned and what they are still trying to solve. By connecting this knowledge and experience – including promising work that has not yet had a wider platform – we can support one another and advance
more coordinated and sustainable responses to hoarding nationwide.

How the Collaborative Will Work

The Center for Hoarding will provide a place for agencies, task forces, and community professionals to connect. We will organize and facilitate conversations, working groups, and peer problem-solving sessions based on the interests and challenges participants bring forward.

Participating organizations remain independent and continue to lead their own programs. Each decides which conversations to join, what to share, and whether to collaborate with others. The Center for Hoarding’s role is only to help make those connections possible and support the exchange of ideas and experience.

As the Collaborative grows, we hope to make participating programs and resources easier to discover through agency profiles, links, and practical materials. We will speak with contributors before featuring their work or sharing materials they have developed.
