Program Overview
The Professional Certification in Community Hoarding Intervention is a comprehensive live, interactive online training program designed to equip professionals and community partners with the knowledge, tools, consultation, and ongoing support needed to effectively respond to complex hoarding situations.
This program brings together expert trainers, agency professionals, and individuals with lived experience to provide unmatched insight, practical expertise, and real-world application. Participants learn how to move beyond crisis response and develop coordinated, compassionate, sustainable interventions.

Get Certified. Stay Certified. Stay Supported.
Certification is valid for one year from the date the certificate is issued. To maintain certification without interruption, participants must enroll in the Continuing Education & Support Program prior to certificate expiration.
Ongoing certification maintenance includes completion of 10 contact hours per year and the required 2-hour Final Updates & Refresher Course during the final quarter of the certification year.
This model ensures professionals remain current, connected, and supported while continuing to strengthen their ability to manage complex hoarding cases.
Agency Enrollment Recommendation
It is strongly recommended that agencies enroll at least two key staff members or community partners in the Professional Certification in Community Hoarding Intervention program. Having multiple certified professionals supports consistent, high-quality, trauma-informed intervention, strengthens internal capacity, improves collaboration with community partners, and supports more sustainable outcomes in complex hoarding cases.
Enrollment and Certificate Policy
To ensure the integrity and quality of the program, all enrollments are final, non-transferable, and non-refundable. Once a participant is enrolled, that participant may not be replaced by another individual.
The Professional Certification Program, Continuing Education & Support Program access, and any associated certificate are intended solely for the registered participant. Certificates are issued only in the name of the enrolled participant.
Participants are required to attend a minimum of 8 out of 12 live classes in real time. Recorded classes must be viewed in full, and all related coursework must be completed before the certificate is issued. The lived experience panel is not recorded.
All courses are delivered through the Center for Hoarding’s secure online Learning Management System. The LMS allows participants to access course materials, complete coursework, and allows the Center for Hoarding to accurately track attendance, completion, and certification requirements.
Any attempt to share access, materials, links, recordings, or credentials with individuals other than the registered participant will result in immediate account deactivation, revocation of certificate, and disqualification from associated program benefits.
